Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust
As Executive Director of the Miami-Dade County Homeless Trust, Victoria L. Mallette is responsible for directing and implementing Miami-Dade County’s Community Homeless Plan, the local Continuum of Care’s approach to ending homelessness. She provides administrative, contractual and policy formulation assistance related to homeless services, and oversees a $60 million budget, in collaboration with a 27-member Board of Trustees. Previously, Mallette served as Acting Director of Development, Advocacy & Communications for Miami-Dade Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces, raising more than $3.2 million, in partnership with the Parks Foundation of Miami-Dade, a non-profit organization formed to support and enhance parks and open spaces. Mallette oversaw a broad, cross-functional team of communications, marketing, grants, legislative, special events and volunteer professionals. Mallette began her public service career as Director of Communications for former Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Alvarez and as the External Affairs/Governmental Coordinator for Miami-Dade Emergency Management. Previously, she worked in broadcast journalism at both WPLG-TV, Local 10, in Miami and WINK-TV in Fort Myers, Florida, holding posts including Senior Political Producer and Investigative Producer. Mallette has a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Florida International University and Master of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University. Born and raised in Miami-Dade County, Mallette is married with two young children.
