Florida Community Development Association
Emory Counts currently serves as the Executive Director/Secretary-Treasurer of the Florida Community Development Association and also on the boards of several organizations. He served as Economic/Community Development Director and Business Ombudsman for the City of Daytona Beach until his retirement in 2017. Emory has also served in several external leadership positions including as President of the Leadership Alumni Steering Committee for The Chamber; President of Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida; President of the National Community Development Association; and on the venerable Checkered Flag Committee for the Daytona International Speedway Corporation. He received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The University of Miami, Coral Gables, Fla.
