TED GRANGER is the president of the United Way of Florida. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University in 1978, and later received his Juris Doctor degree from the same esteemed institution. After “hanging his shingle” and engaging in general civil and criminal trial litigation for three years, he was hired by the Florida Senate as a legislative analyst with the Commerce Committee. In 1986, he joined the Florida Chamber of Commerce as the Vice President of Government Relations and, after four years, left to become President of the United Way of Florida. The United Way of Florida is a statewide association representing Florida’s 32 United Ways on Florida legislative and administrative issues and implementation of developmental programs for local United Way organizations. Among others, Ted is Chair of the FEMA State Set-Aside Committee, the Healthy Families Florida Statewide Advisory Committee, and Children’s Week. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Florida Afterschool Network, the Florida Nonprofit Association, and the One Goal Summer Conference on Children Committee.
