The Shimberg Center will demonstrate new data and mapping tools to help you tell your community’s housing story. Shimberg staff will demonstrate new interactive maps showing Florida schools impacted by student homelessness, affordable housing developments at risk of expiring subsidies, and communities impacted by flooding and storms. You will also learn how to use the newly revamped Florida Housing Data Clearinghouse and Housing Florida’s Elders data sites to document local housing needs. Participants with a laptop or mobile device (not required) will have the chance to test these tools for their own communities. The session is aimed at local and state government staff, nonprofits, grant writers, reporters, and anyone else interested in rounding out your local housing story with maps and data.
