Due to Hurricane Irma, the Florida Housing Coalition will be not be holding our Statewide Annual Conference next week.
Many of our members are on the front lines for helping their communities in a natural disaster, in their roles as local government employees, social service providers, nonprofits, and good corporate citizens. The state will also need individual volunteers, and it is the nature of our membership to do that sort of community service.
We have over 700 people registered for the Conference. We hope to find an alternative date with the Rosen Group to reschedule the event, but do not have that date yet.
Please know that neither the Rosen Centre nor the Rosen Shingle Creek will be charging you for your hotel reservations due to this cancellation. Additionally, the Florida Housing Coalition will not charge you for your conference registration.
The Rosen Centre will be canceling all hotel reservations in the Coalition room block at 5pm today automatically. If, you want to keep your reservation, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Harris Rosen and Rosen Hotels, are awesome corporate citizens and have informed us that should you want to stay at the Rosen Centre for safe shelter from the storm, you will get a $79 rate in the hurricane relief block. If you are evacuating and taking your pets, they are permitting pets too. I highly suggest you email rather than phone if you wish to evacuate to that Hotel, as due to the storm, they have about a 30 minute wait time on the phone lines.
We hope that everyone comes through next week safely and look forward to having you all at the 2017 conference when we find an alternative date.
